Meet the Team: 

 

We're veteran brand marketing, mass media, video, design and PR pros with decades of experience at global agencies and media outlets. In 2014, we decided it was high time to break the mold and launch our own full-service creative services shop.

 

Co-Founders: 

Chris Knight

Creative director, co-founder 

 

Chris began his career as a writer, photographer and TV producer. Following that, he spent nearly two decades working for big PR shops including GCI Group, Cohn & Wolfe and Ruder Finn. He specializes in surround-sound marketing + PR campaigns, and has worked for global brands and startups, including: BMW, The Bay Citizen, G-Technology, Neato Robotics, Panasonic, SanDisk and Spot Runner. His editorial and production work has appeared in media outlets such as ABC-TV, the Boston Herald, Left magazine, San Francisco Bay Guardian, SiliconValleyWatcher, the Vineyard Gazette and WIRED

HOBBIES:

Street and nightlife photography, creative writing + making movies and online TV shows

 

FAVORITE MEAL:

Fine wine, French bread and an assortment of exotic goat and sheep cheeses and fruits

Celso Dulay

Director of video services, co-founder  

Celso has produced and edited commercial video and news packages for clients including Panasonic, SanDisk and Tom's of Maine. He won a Citizen Journalism Award at the GigaoOm Pier Screenings event for a self-produced piece covering the world-famous San Francisco PRIDE celebration in 2007 where judge Craig Newmark (founder of Craigslist) compared him to Jon Stewart of The Daily Show. Celso studied acting and dance at Virginia Commonwealth University and the Jean Shelton Acting Studio before earning a degree in broadcast media production at City College of San Francisco. 

HOBBIES:

Dancing, singing, writing, interior design + making movies and online TV shows

Scott Samson 

Marketing communications strategist 

Scott has 15+ years of tech marketing and PR experience, spanning both B2B and consumer within mobile, enterprise software, hardware, social, cloud services, ad tech, security and cleantech. He was recognized as Top Executive of the Year by Business Intelligence Group’s 2016 Marketing Excellence Awards. Previous to SamsonPR, he was VP of Global Marketing and Communications at Quixey and Head of Communications, North America at Criteo.

HOBBIES:

Running and wine (preferably not together)

Lee Cummings 

Director of photography, videographer 

Lee a.k.a. “Turbo” has had a camera in his hand since he was nine years old. A seasoned video and film industry veteran, he possesses a powerful combination of visual acuity and a keen marketing sense. Lee’s adept at a variety of formats - including commercials, corporate content, short films and music videos. He earned a B.A. degree in Theater from U.C. Davis that helps him in his directing of talent. He is a producer and director who’s not afraid to "break the fourth wall.”

HOBBY:

Ping pong 

 

FAVORITE THINGS:

Loves to laugh, eat pizza and street tacos, and can binge-watch all 10 seasons of “Seinfeld”

 

PROUDEST PRO ACHIEVEMENT:

Produced, directed and shot a movie feature, “Date for Hire” – a romantic comedy – for $250

David L. Minard  

Director of audio and sound engineering  

David L. Minard is a multi-talented Bay Area native. He’s recorded sound for video productions and music in-studio for more than seven years since earning his B.A. degree in recording engineering from Ex'pression College. He’s also a musician (drummer, singing and beatboxing). David has produced content for companies such as AOL, Funny or Die, Google, The Gap and Whole Foods Market. He spent five years as the lead recording engineer at Live Musicians Co-op's "4 Legends Studios,” and wears a second hat as a portrait and event photographer. 

HOBBIES:

Avid partner dancer (swing dance, 10+ years; fusion dance, 5+ years). Also loves snorkeling 

 

PROUDEST PRO ACHIEVEMENTS:

First album he fully engineered was for a Mariachi band; designed and hand-built own photo booth

 

WEBSITE:

Diana is one of our resident broadcast storytelling and consumer product experts. She created the Gadget Grrl™ character in 1996, making her the first Gadget Grrl ever on the planet Earth. Many faux gadget girls followed. She’s appeared on countless regional and national radio and TV talk/news shows promoting consumer tech products. Diana is an expert at creating snackable content that sells with a comedic spin by conveying the benefits and key features of products in short nano-bursts that average consumers can digest and understand it. It’s a philosophy she calls: Find the Funny. She’s written product reviews for media outlets including CNET, CosmoGirl and TheStreet.

Gretchen is a multi-talented artist including graphic design, presentations, photography, music and video editing. In 1996, she started her own graphic design consultancy in San Francisco and has been working on the cutting edge of technology, music and design ever since. Her design studio is now in Boulder, CO. By mixing her gift for the creative with an exceptional aptitude for the technological, she’s become indispensable to her clients. Gretchen, who graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse U. with founder Chris Knight, is quick to learn, adapt and rise to any challenge.

HOBBIES:

Gretchen is happiest when photographing, traveling and singing... sometimes all at once.  She regularly enjoys skiing, hiking and bicycling - then creating amazing food to eat afterwards

Kimberly Quinn Devine

Brand marketer, storyteller

Kimberly has more than 15 years of experience in sales, marketing and communications. She started her PR career at FleishmanHillard and then moved to Cohn & Wolfe where she managed corporate and creative campaigns for more than twenty startup, mid-sized and global brand accounts including Autonomy, Avanade, Documentum, Expedia, HP, Maxtor, SanDisk, Sun Microsystems, SpringCM and Vignette. Following that, Kimberly was an early investor and VP of Marketing in two start-ups: Zydeco Spice, LLC based in New Orleans and Mobiplex Inc. based in Silicon Valley, where she led brand, marketing and communications activities as well as retail marketing, distribution and customer support. 

HOBBIES:

Experiencing the world with her daughter: reading, writing, singing, dancing, painting, biking, swimming or anything else that’s fun and creative

 

FAVORITE MEALS:

Japanese sushi, Thai curry, Texas BBQ or a fresh salad with locally grown veggies and fruit
